Most recently a resident of Homewood at Crumland Farms, Frederick, MD, Gordon was born and raised on a farm in northern Wisconsin. He attended the University of Wisconsin, Wright Jr. College and Texas A&M.
In 1943, Gordon married Delores Luebke and they shared 59 wonderful years together.
He served on active duty in the U.S. Navy from 1942 - 1946, when he joined the Philco Corp. as a Field Engineer/Tech Rep. In 1947, he joined the CAA where he served in field positions in Washington, the Canal Zone (Panama), Wyoming, Alaska (isolated with Dee for 18 months), Minnesota, Michigan & Oklahoma before going to FAA headquarters in Washington, D.C. in 1959.
He retired as Chief of the Frequency Management Staff in 1979 when he established G.T. Henderson & Associates, Inc. Gordon was an active Amateur Radio operator (W4SGF), a Board Member of the Drum Point, MD Property Owner's Association and served as Rear-, Vice- & Commodore of the Solomons Island Yacht Club. One of his proudest feats was building a beautiful home on Spring Cove in Southern Maryland with his wife, Delores (Dee) (1924-2003), where they retired to. In their later years, Dee & Gordon traveled the U.S. & parts of Canada by motor home. They enjoyed spending winters in Bonita Springs & Gainesville, FL.
Gordon is survived by his daughter, MaryAnn Peplinski of Monrovia, MD; son, G. Scott Henderson of Centreville, VA; grandson, Stephen Peplinski of Monrovia, MD; granddaughter, Kelly Henderson of Atlanta, GA; and granddaughter, Ashly Henderson of Newport, RI.
