Mr. Sam Wiley Inmon, 90, of Frederick, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center in Frederick. He was the loving husband for 56 years of Evelyn Virginia Inmon. Born June 13, 1919, in Anderson County, near Palestine, Texas, he was the son of the late Wyatt J and Eva C. (Mathis) Inmon. Mr. Inmon honorably served the United States of America in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, from 1942 until 1946. Following his time in the service, Mr. Inmon worked as a camp counselor for troubled boys near Dallas from 1950 until 1953. He became a high school teacher and then the principal of an elementary school in Navarro County, Texas, concluding this work in 1960. He then moved to Maryland, where he taught elementary school in Calvert County and later in Frederick County until his retirement in 1981 from Frederick County Public Schools. He was a member of Brook Hill United Methodist Church and a former member of the Civitan Club. In addition to his wife, Mr. Inmon is survived by his children, Randall W. Inmon of Frederick, Debra Lyn Inmon of Middletown, and Cathy Lee Inman and husband, Kevin, of Frederick. He was the grandfather of Bethany Ann Inman and Devin Michael Inman, both of Frederick. He is additionally survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Inmon was preceded in death by his sister, Eula Lee Thurman, who passed away in 1977. A memorial service is planned at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24, at Brook Hill United Methodist Church, 8946 Indian Springs Road, Frederick. The Rev. Conrad O. Link and the Rev. Linda A. Warehime will officiate. Interment will be private at Brook Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, Frederick.
