Randy Irwin of Frederick died Sunday, June 27, 2010, at home after a courageous, five-year fight with kidney cancer. Randy is survived by his wife, Kim; and their daughters, Paige and Perri; their sons, Paul and Parker; his parents, Bill and Dona Irwin; his sister, Debbie Holtzendorff and her family; his brothers, Mike, Rich and Chuck Irwin and their families. Born in Pasadena, Calif., June 8, 1958, to William and Dona Irwin, Randy served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) in Philadelphia, graduated from Brigham Young University with a business management degree and married Kim in 1987. Randy was an Eagle Scout and loved camping, serving in church and family activities. Randy worked in retail grocery until the oldest children entered middle school when he became a full-time father. He cherished his wife and children. Paige is serving as a missionary for the LDS Church in Brazil, Paul is serving as a missionary for the LDS Church in the Dominican Republic; Perri will be a senior in high school and Parker will be in eighth grade next year. Friends will be received from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 3, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Walkersville building, 1811 Latham Place, Frederick, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Bishop Steve Duke of the Monocacy Ward will officiate. The interment will be determined at a later date in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Whittier, Calif. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your local Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
