Emily Suzanne Keller

Emily Suzanne Keller, 64, died Tuesday August 30, 2011 at her home surrounded by family. She was the wife of Donald L. Keller of Frederick to whom she was married for 43 years.

Mrs. Keller was born November 24, 1946, in Frederick, MD. She was the daughter of Emily Jeanette Insley and the late John Straughn Insley. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Scott L. Keller and wife Jodi of Littlestown, PA and Colyn L. Keller of Littlestown, PA. Also surviving are her five grandchildren, Corbyn L. Keller, Coltyn D. Keller, Camdyn P. Keller, Kathryn E. Keller and Lance L. Keller all of Littlestown, PA; and one sister, Priscilla Lloyd and husband Kenneth of Wilmington, NC.

Mrs. Keller was an accomplished pianist and played the organ at Grace Episcopal Church early in her life. Additionally she helped operate the family business, Insley's Shoes, working at the Frederick store as well as running a store in Charles Town, West Virginia. She taught Sunday school at All Saints Episcopal Church. In addition she was a charter member of the Hoe and Hope Garden Club of Frederick.

Her true love was her family. She was very involved in her children's activities, helping to start the first junior golf program at Holly Hills Club. Later with her husband Donald, they started the first Mid Maryland basketball team at Monocacy Middle School.

She was an avid golfer and a fierce competitor. Along with her husband Donald, they won the Maryland State Mixed Two Ball title. She won her club championship at Sugar Mill GC and finished runner up in the Florida Women's Amateur.

There will be private family interment services. A memorial service will begin at 11:00, Friday September 2nd 2011 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 106 W. Church Street Frederick. Officiating will be the Deacon Thomas W. Claggett III.
