Margaret Mary Seek Kimble, 78, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at her home in Adamstown. Born on November 29, 1931 in Takoma Park, MD, she was the daughter of Frederica and Julian Seek, both of whom are deceased, and was a sister to six siblings.
She was brought up in the Catholic faith and attended Nativity Grade and Immaculate Conception High School in Washington, D.C. In 1957, Margaret married her sweetheart, James E. Kimble, who sadly passed away in 1996. She raised nine children, and was truly blessed by the 13 grandchildren that soon followed.
In her early years, she worked at the Veterans Administration and Prudential Insurance, and after her children were grown, she was employed for many years with what is now Bank of America until retirement. She excelled at many sports, especially softball, and she liked to mention that she played shortstop for the All Star Team in HS. Besides being a bingo enthusiast, she enjoyed crocheting blankets, listening to music, having kickball games in her backyard, and just being in the company of loved ones.
She is survived by children Mary Lou and Ken Winfield, daughter Brittany; Jim Jr. and Kathy Kimble, daughters Kim, Kara, and Katie; Linda and Rick Vogel, son Joe and daughter Erica; Allen and Beatrice Kimble, daughters Camille and Sophia; Kathy and Jim Round, son Jimmy and daughter Tori; Julie Kimble; Bob Kimble; Alice and Dan Bailey, daughters Sammi, Nikki, and Brooke; and Ruth and Ron Wetzel.
Friends will be received on Friday, September 17 from 7 to 8 PM, at which time a memorial prayer service will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, with Deacon John Manley officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in any charity of your choice. On Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 10am a private burial is planned at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, MD.
