Harold &Quot;Flush&Quot; Edward Knode, Jr

Harold Edward "Flush" Knode Jr., 76, of Frederick, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, in Baltimore. He was the husband of the late Ruth Dykeman Knode. Born March 20, 1934, in Frederick, he was a son of the late Harold E. Sr. and Evelyn Lakel Knode. Mr. Knode was retired as an operating engineer at Fort Detrick in Frederick. He was a member of the Amvets Post 2, Jeffersonian Patriotic Club, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Loyal Order of the Moose and Cresap's Rifle Post 78. Surviving him are one daughter, Penny D. Dickensheets and husband, Michael, of New Market; one sister, Jill D. Grove and husband, James H. III, of Frederick; two grandsons, Dylan M. Free and Michael L. Dickensheets; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He will also be remembered by a special friend, Dorothy Burke, of Frederick. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartly House, P.O.
