Mark Henley Koehl, 49, of Frederick, went home to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born Nov. 28, 1960, in Frederick. Mark was the beloved husband of Leanna Duvall Koehl, the cherished father of Kendra Louise Koehl; stepfather to Amber Thompson; and the dear loved son of Grace Free Koehl and the late Joel Koehl. Mark was a lifetime Fredericktonian, born and raised. He lived life to its fullest, enjoying his family and friends. He had a big heart and would give anything to anyone in need. Mark was a 1978 graduate of Gov. Thomas Johnson High School. He then went on to own and operate his own business, Reliable Framing Inc., building some of the finest homes in Frederick and Washington counties. During his life, he was a tremendous help to his community, especially volunteering his time to the Shookstown Civic Association. Mark leaves behind his cherished brothers, Gerald Koehl and wife, Elaine, Steven Koehl and wife, Kim, and Michael Koehl. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He will be deeply missed by his dogs, Junior and Tobey. The family will welcome friends and family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 9, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Dr. Paul Mundey and the Rev. Sandi Evans Rogers will officiate. The interment will follow at Rocky Springs Cemetery, Frederick. Serving as pallbearers will be Gerald Koehl, Michael Koehl, Ben Koehl, Eric Mister, John Naille, Blair Duvall, Roy Duvall and Harry Free. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Steve Koehl, Case Koehl, Joe Free, Jimmy Campbell, Jeff Bostain and Colin Duvall.
