James F. Koogle

Mr. James F. Koogle, 77, of Walkersville, died on Friday, April 8, 2011. He was the husband of Rita (Roy) Koogle. Born January 6, 1934 in Jefferson, Maryland to Conley A. and Margaret E. Koogle.

Mr. Koogle served in the US Army from 1953 to 1956 stationed in Massachusetts where he met his wife of 54 years Rita. He loved spending time with his family and his dogs, as well as fishing at White's Ferry and woodworking. James enjoyed listening to country music and spent some time making fudge at the Great Frederick Fair.

He is survived by his daughter Rhonda Ann Rice and husband Joseph, Jeanie Marie Fox and husband Richard, and Doris Mae Koogle her son Cody. His grandchildren include Nichole Beech and husband Sean, Heidi Rice, Justin Stull, Jennifer Stull, Erin Fox, Samantha Fox and Great Grand Children, Cameron and Julie Beech. He also leaves behind Sisters M. Patricia Koogle, Nancy Stillions, Linda Winsor, Kay Lambright and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Donald A. Koogle.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 11 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 12 at 10:00 AM in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home, Rev. Robert Driver-Bishop officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Jefferson.
