Gloria Laboard

Ms. Gloria LaBoard, 69, of Frederick, died Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born June 6, 1942 in Baltimore City, she was the daughter of the late Bracy and Elizabeth LaBoard.

Gloria resided with MedSource Community Services, Inc., for more than 23 years. She attended the Washington County Human Development Council, a medical day program. Gloria formerly worked through The Arc of Washington County in Chewsville, and Crossroads Centers in Hagerstown. She was a former resident of the Victor Cullen Center in Sabillasville.

Gloria touched the lives of all who knew her. She was known for her smile, her special "wave", and her love of music and dancing. She loved animals and spending time with her friends. She enjoyed picnics and road trips. Gloria will be especially missed by her caregivers, Marlian Ingram and Katie Troutman; her longtime housemates, Brenda Clements and Debra Inmon; and her close friend, Christopher Troutman. She also will be remembered by her primary care practitioner, Virginia Harte, PA; and the staff and her countless friends at the Human Development Council, as well as MedSource Community Services and Service Coordination, Inc.

Gloria was the last of her immediate family and was predeceased by several sisters.

A memorial service for Gloria will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 5 from the chapel of Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, with a receiving of friends from 10 until 11. Officiating will be Ms. Penny Rollins.

Interment will be private.
