Charles E Linn

Charles E. Linn, 58, of Detour and formerly of Knoxville, Tenn., passed away suddenly Tuesday, June 29, 2010. He was a loving husband to Janel and a very devoted father to Donald. Born Nov. 27, 1951, in Jackson County, Ala., he was the son of the late William and Estelle Linn. He was a microbiologist by degree, with a passion for writing and computers. He was very proud to be known as both a science geek and USAF Vietnam veteran. He will be very sorely missed by many people. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 5, at Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, at St. Timothy's Roman Catholic Church, 8651 Biggs Ford Road, Walkersville. Monsignor Richard J. Murphy will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Donald Linn Memorial College Fund, c/o PNC Bank, 300 Commerce Drive, Walkersville, MD 21793.
