Bernard Anthony Litchfield, Sr

Mr. Bernard Anthony Litchfield Sr., 91, of Frederick, formerly of Potomac, died at his home Saturday, May 29, 2010. He was the husband of Anne Litchfield. Born Aug. 12, 1918, in Washington, he was the son of the late Bernard S. and Barbara Antoinette Gaegler Litchfield. Prior to moving to the Frederick area, Mr. Litchfield was the owner of Litchfield Inc. Heating and Cooling of Rockville. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop McNamara Council 1622, Fourth Degree. In addition to his wife, he is survived by eight children, Antoinette Harris, Kathleen Litchfield, Barbara Anna Toula, Jane Sczepanski, Bernard Litchfield Jr., Peter Litchfield, Paul Litchfield and Andrew Litchfield; 22 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one daughter, Suzanne Litchfield. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The Knights of Columbus will lead the rosary service at 8 p.m. A memorial Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, at St. Joseph's on Carrollton Manor, 5843 Manor Woods Road, Buckeystown.
