Edward Paul Lombard, Jr

Mr. Edward Paul Lombard Jr., 71, of Frederick, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Sandra Carlson Lombard. Born in Washington on May 28, 1939, he was a son of Edward Paul Lombard Sr. of Gaithersburg and the late Ruth Cleary Lombard. Ed was a graduate of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, class of 1957, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968 from Southeastern University College of Business and Legal Studies. He retired after 37 years as a budget analyst for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Washington. In his retirement, he worked for the Tourism Council of Frederick County Inc. as a tourism specialist for 12 years, was recently accepted as a docent for the National Civil War Museum of Medicine and worked as a delivery person for Frederick Florist. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Frederick. Surviving in addition to his wife and father are two sons, Paul A. Lombard (Robin) and Brian C. Lombard, all of Gaithersburg; one brother, Alan K. Lombard (Gloria) of Charleston, S.C.; and stepdaughter, Kelly M. Carlson of Germantown. He will also be remembered by his mother-in-law, Helen H. Bruchey of Frederick; brother-in-law, Bruce A. Bruchey Jr. (Judi) of Arnold; nephews, Trey and Ryan Bruchey; and niece, Chrissy Bruchey. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, at Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 9, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Pastor Lynn Wilson, assistant pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, will officiate.
