Mildred Louise Speak Malott, 88, of Frederick, died on Sunday, October 9, 2011, at St. Catherine's Nursing Center, in Emmitsburg. She was the wife of the late John Edward Malott,who died July 13, 1996. Born in Frederick on November 14,1922, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Franklin and Rosa Catherine Rutherford Speak. She had worked at Price Electric in Frederick and was the last of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence F. Speak, John W. Speak, and five sisters, Leary C. Gue, G. Maxine Kegley, S. Hilda Kidwiler, Bertha V. Copoulos and Cora Mae Herndon. Surviving her are many nieces and nephews, including Pat and Ron Huntzberry, of Frederick, and many special great nieces and nephews, including Karen S. Jaeger and husband Brian, of Finksburg, Krista Liller, of Cascade and Devin Liller, of Fla. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., on Sunday, October 16, 2011, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, October 17, 2011, from the funeral home. The Rev. George G. Earle, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
