Betty L. D. Morgan

Mrs. Betty L. D. Morgan, age 78, of Frederick, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles "Shorty" Morgan who passed away on February 18, 1993. Born on February 16, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Preston and Elsie Mossburg. She was also lovingly raised by her step dad the late Chester Shaw.

Mrs. Morgan worked through out her life at American Optical, Ames and most recently at the Seventh Street Giant Eagle. She enjoyed playing bingo, working on crossword puzzles and watching soap operas.

She was the mother of five, Donna J. Carter and husband Stephen, Charles R. Morgan, II and wife Nancy, Kenneth "Buttons" E. Morgan, Linda D. Orndorff, and Donald "Rocky" J. Morgan and wife Cathy. She was the grandmother of 8, two of whom preceded her in death, and the great-grandmother of 6. She is additionally survived by one sister.

In addition to her two grandchildren and parents, she is also preceded in death by her four brothers. She will be remembered by her special friend Peggy Wolfe.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 11 AM at the Parkway Community Church of God, 5665 New Design Rd., Frederick MD 21703. The Rev. Dr. Howard L. Ruley will officiate.
