Theodore &Quot;Ted&Quot; Joseph Mucha

Mr. Theodore "Ted" Joseph Mucha, 90, of Frederick, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Golden Living Center. He was the husband of Catherine E. Dexter Mucha. They were married for 64 years. Born June 3, 1920, in Detroit, Mich., he was the son of the late Thomas and Agnes Roeback Mucha.

Mr. Mucha was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He retired from the U.S. government after several years as a food and drug officer. He worked at the Department of Agriculture as a dairy technologist after receiving a Master of Science degree at Michigan State College.

He was a member of NARFE, AARP and the Knights of Columbus 1622. Mr. Mucha was also a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Mucha is survived by four children, Susan Kaney and husband, Jim, of Buffalo, N.Y., Cynthia Satterfield and husband, Dave, of Frederick, Thomas C. Mucha and wife, Pamela, of Baltimore, and Elizabeth Kinsella and husband, John, of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; nine grandchildren; a sister, Joan McRae of Dearborn, Mich.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister, Genevieve Ewasiak.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. A rosary service will begin at 7:30 p.m. with Deacon Dan Roff presiding.

A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, from St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 E. Second St., Frederick. The Rev. John Lesnick will officiate.

Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
