David Delmar Myers

June 28, 1964 — March 5, 2011

Mr. David Delmar Myers, 46, passed away at his home in Middletown on Saturday, March 5, 2011.

Born in Frederick on June 28, 1964, he was the son of Larry D. and Shirley L. (Crum) Myers of Middletown.

He was a 1982 graduate of Middletown High School and Frederick County Vocational-Technical Center, specializing in Plumbing, Heating and Air-conditioning. In his early years, he was employed by Nelson Plumbing and Heating, Klipp and Sons Plumbing and Heating, and by Kaempf and Harris as a sheet metal mechanic.

David attended Church of Christ in Hagerstown. A member of the Rouzerville Fish and Game Association and the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society, he was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting, archery and being a part of nature and its beauty. Due to being disabled in his early thirties, he had to give up most of these activities. However, he loved spending time at the Middletown Park pond, whether fishing, sitting or just watching others fish or watching the geese coming and going on the pond. He was content with rides through the mountains and countryside. He had an extensive collection of music which he enjoyed listening to, whether it was country, bluegrass, gospel or the blues and playing his guitars.

He enjoyed attending Little League baseball games, fishing and spending time with his nephews, Clayton and Colby. Also, he was a woodcrafter who enjoyed making gifts for his family.

In addition to his parents, David is survived by his brother, Darren M. Myers and his wife, Lisa M. Myers and their children, Clayton A. and Colby M. Myers of Boonsboro; his son, Brandon L. Myers and his daughter, Amber L. Myers and her fiancee, Travis Beachley, all of Middletown; his son, Zachary D. Bujak of Butler, Pa., and grandson, Jacob C. Beachley of Middletown.

Additionally, he is survived by his aunts, Linda L. Stone and husband, Maurice H. Stone, and Nancy L. Burgess, all of Hagerstown; Helen L. Shankle and husband, Jack Shankle of Frederick, and Thais L. Kemp and companion, Ray Reed of Jefferson; and his uncles, Donald L. Crum of Hagerstown and Robert L. Crum and wife, Barbara of Zephyrhills, Fla., and numerous cousins.

David was predeceased by his grandparents, Paul L. and Pauline W. Crum, and Roger L. and Helen B. Myers.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8 at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9 from the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Gerrard Fess from Church of Christ, Hagerstown.

Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Serving as bearers will be Kevin Bloom, David Clem, Jeff Elkins, Gene Horner, Jr., Jerry Slattery, and Clayton Myers. Honorary bearer will be Colby Myers.
