George T. &Quot;Buddy&Quot; Myers

George T. "Buddy" Myers, age 91, of Frederick passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Rose Marie Myers. Born on December 11, 1918, he was the son of the late George W. and Pearl (Delphey) Myers.

Mr. Myers graduated from Frederick High School and Washington & Lee University. He was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa and Pi Kappa Phi. He served in the United States Air Force in World War II in the South Pacific. He was an honorary member of the Independent Hose Company and a member of the American Legion Post 11. He was an avid sports fan, particularly Frederick High School teams. He was a member of the Evangelical Reformed United Church of Christ, where he was the Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon and Elder.

Surviving in addition to his wife Rose Marie Myers, is his nephews, Thomas C. Davis and wife Alice and George W. Davis, and wife Cindy of Wilmington, DE, and niece Sally Heather Wingate and husband Mark of Nashville, TN and several great nieces and nephews. Mr. Myers is preceded in death by his sister, Emily Myers Davis of Wilmington, DE.

Friends will be received at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick on Sunday, December 5, 2010 from 1 to 3 PM where funeral services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 1 PM. The Rev. Thomas C. Davis, III will officiate. The interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
