Mabel May Nicklas

Jitter Nicklas, 84, of Buckeystown, MD, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, R. Rogers Nicklas. Born October 15, 1927 in Frederick County, she was the daughter of Charlie and Lorraine (Barnes) May.

Jitter was a 1944 graduate of Frederick High School. She worked at Landis Jewelry Store for 16 years where she met her husband, the love of her life 57 years. Jitter was also employed by the Buckeystown Post Office Frederick County for 25 years. She was an avid bowler and was one of the top women bowlers in Frederick County for many years. Jitter was a long time member of Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed going to the Redskin games with her sisters. Jitter loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchild.

In addition to her husband she is survived by one daughter Tina Murray and husband John, one son, Randy Nicklas and wife Julie, four grandchildren, Amy Murray Entwistle and husband Jeff, Jami Murray and boyfriend Ryan Kint, Randy Nicklas II, Tyler Nicklas and one great grandchild Brayden Entwistle.

She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses, Guyla Beacht, predeceased husband Donnie Beacht, Donnie May, predeceased wife Ruth May, Kenny May and wife Bonnie, Deanna May predeceased, Sandy Gouker and husband Paul, Darlene Reeder and husband Jimmy and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are welcome at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home 106 East Church Street, Frederick on Wednesday, October 26th, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM. All services and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
