Edna Mary O'Hara

Edna Mary Knill O'Hara was the wife of the late Paul Ruley O'Hara, Sr. and the daughter of the late Charles Edgar and Addie Keefer Knill. She was born March 14, 1920, in Sellman, Montgomery County, Maryland. She was lovingly known as "Nana" to her family and their friends.

Edna is survived by three children-Paul R. Jr. and wife Mary, Kathleen O'Hara and husband Gene Campbell (Frederick), Peggy Crum and husband Jerry (Woodsboro); six grandchildren-Bill Jones and fianc Winona Leaman, Daniel Boone, Jr. and wife Robin, Kim Jones Wood and husband Brian, Debbie Boone Hissey and husband Bryan (Frederick), Kelli O'Hara Chung and husband Chien-Li (Glen Ridge, NJ), and Paul O'Hara III (Las Vegas, NV). She is also survived by seven great grandchildren-Tyler and Zach Jones; Jake and Abby Hissey; Erin, Haysie and Gavin Chung; and Luke Wood.

The following also survive-sisters Betty Newberry and husband Ernest (Crawfordville, FL), Barbara Spivey, half brother Bill Knill and wife Carillon (Frederick), sisters-in-law Peggy Knill (St. Petersburg, FL) and Mary Knill (Martinsburg, WV), as well as many nieces and nephews. Edna was predeceased by brothers John, Frank, Charles and Elbert; sister Nellie Crutchley; and son-in-law Danny Boone.

Mrs. O'Hara was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Frederick and AARP. She worked for many years at Sagners. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at Creekside Senior Apartments where she resided. She was an excellent seamstress and for many years sewed for her family and friends.

Friends will be recieved on Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 11 AM. Rev. Dr. W. Philip Fogarty will officate. The interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews, Edward Crutchley, Keefer Knill, Clayton Minnick, Allen O'Hara, Eddie O'Hara, and David Spivey.
