James Edward Perry

James Edward Perry, age 59, of Frederick died on November 2, 2010 at Georgetown University Hospital. Born on March 1, 1951 in Morgantown, WV, he was the adopted son of the late Martin and Wilma Perry. He was the loving husband of Teresa Weddle Perry for 23 years.

Having moved to Frederick, MD shortly after birth, he was a lifelong Frederick resident. Mr. Perry was a 1969 graduate of Governor Thomas Johnson High School. He also attended Massanutten Military Academy and Frostburg State University. Mr. Perry was a proud service member of the United States Air Force. He served as a medic, working closely with returning Vietnam veterans and was honorably discharged in 1975. Jim was employed from 1978 to 1986 at Eastalco Aluminum Company. He then worked for FedEx as a courier and a long haul ramp transport driver for 23 years. and retired in 2009. Most recently, he was employed by SAIC Frederick at Fort Detrick. Mr. Perry received numerous accolades for his superb service and work ethic throughout his work history.

Although Mr. Perry was very dedicated at work, his primary focus was always his family. He is survived in death not only by his wife Teresa, but by his two children, Rachel Virginia Perry and Jacob Martin Perry. He will also be dearly missed by his English Springer Spaniel, Eli.

Mr. Perry was a member of the American Legion Francis Scott Key Post #11.

A memorial service will be held at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 11 AM. Bishop John Kippen will officiate. Please view and sign the family guest book by going to www.keeneybasford.com.
