Mr. Harry Thomas Plunkard, Sr., age 85 of Woodsboro passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Elizabeth Plunkard who passed away on July 14 2002 after 58 years of marriage. Born on October 30, 1925 he was the son of the late Guy I. and Emma Plunkard.
Mr. Plunkard worked as a Farmer and after his first retirement, also worked at Woodsboro Southern States. He was a member of Flint Hill United Methodist Church and Sal Member Post 282 American Legion. He also loved gardening and McCormick Deering Tractors.
Mr. Plunkard is survived by his sons, Tommy & wife Jimma and Richard and companion Tina Sweeney, grandson Lonny and wife Kim, Granddaughters Janel and Casey, great-grandsons Phillip, Jude and Rogan, step grandson Michael Clark and wife Jeanne and step granddaughter Jennifer Philips and husband Andy. He is also survived by his brother Donald Plunkard and sisters Ruby Shaff and Ethel Rice. He is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters and a great-grandson Thomas Plunkard. He will be missed by his special friend Jean Baker and fondly remembered by his best Buddy Bear the dog.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, September, 7, 2011 from 7 to 9 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 11 AM. The Rev. Dahl Drenning will officiate. Interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Plunkard, Rick Plunkard, Lonny Plunkard, Michael Clark, Jessee Innskeep, and Jay Innskeep.
