Harold Glenn Pope, "Butchie", 60, of Knoxville, died on Wednesday, November 16 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born on May 28, 1951, in Tunnelton, West Virginia, he was the son of E. Ruth Nichols and the late Wade H. Pope.
Mr. Pope worked for around 40 years at Penn Line Service, most recently as a supervisor. He enjoyed hunting and was a member of both the N.R.A. and the North American Hunting Club. Harold also had a gift for woodworking and was an electric train enthusiast.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Gwynn Pope of Thurmont and children Tracy, Krista, Darryl and Harold Aaron as well as several grandchildren. Mr. Pope also is survived by brothers Wade Pope, Jr., Allen Nichols, nephew Bobby Nichols as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Terry J. Nichols.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 20 from 12-2 PM and 4-6 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 21 at 1:00 PM in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
