Mrs. Hilda Louise Wachter "Buttercup" Ramsburg, 82, of Frederick, died Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Claggett E. Ramsburg, who died on May 14, 1985. Born in Hansonville on Sept. 16, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Amos H. and Estella Moser Wachter. Mrs. Ramsburg was a homemaker for most of her life and a foster mother to many children. She was a member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren and the Brunswick Eagles. She was an avid bingo player. Surviving are her four children, Claggett E. Ramsburg II, Altia L. Sherman and husband, Gerry, and C. Linda Summers, all of Frederick and Virginia S. Baker, of Cascade; one sister, Madeline Hall of Poolesville; four granddaughters, Corinne L. Rice and fianc?, Thomas Dixon of Frederick, Annette Summers, of Washington, Marcia Summers and Teresa Summers, both of Frederick; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Wachter; and two sisters, Altie Michaels and Irene Wetzel. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, May 15, at Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 18, in Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Pastor Daniel S. House of Glade Valley Church of the Brethren will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Sherman, Brandon Bollinger, Thomas Dixon, Gerry Sherman, Douglas May Jr. and Craig Rice.
