Louise Pinney Reid, 80, of Frederick died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late James R. Reid for 56 years.

She was born on February 26, 1930 in Chesterfield County, VA. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Hassie Pinney.

Louise was a past President and life member of the Francis Scott Key American Legion Auxillary and a past Cheapeau of Salon 57, 8 and 40. She was a member of South End Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Steve Reid and wife Donna of Mt. Pleasant, SC and James "Jimmy" Reid and wife Teresa of Brunswick, stepdaughter, Marina Croot and husband Rick of Battery Park, VA, grandchildren, Nathan, Elizabeth, Amanda, Jacob, Brian, Nick, and Olivia, and 4 Great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by children, James A. Reid, Jo-Anne Reid and Bryant R. Reid, brothers, Eugene, William, Allen and Aubrey Pinney, sisters, Frances Mead and Janet DeVone.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 pm on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. The funeral service will begin at 2 pm. Pastor Arnold L. Trevett will officiate. Interment will be private.
