Barbara Jean Rose

Barbara Jean Rose 53, of West Third Street, Frederick, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 3, 2011.

Daughter of the late Edward Warren Rose and Shirley Maxine Rose, she was born February 2, 1958 in Sandy Springs, MD.

After Graduating from Gov. Thomas Johnson High School in the mid 1970s, Barbara loved living and working in the downtown Frederick community, while watching it grow into a thriving and vital city center. For years one could find Barbara cheerfully and expertly serving the patrons of Jennifer's Restaurant and more recently at La Paz.

She enjoyed the company of others as well as quiet times, be it in her back yard or at the Outer Banks. And most especially, she enjoyed spoiling her Golden Retriever, Molly.

In addition to her loving husband, Richard A. Rodenbaugh, Barbara is survived by a sister, Julia A. Carroll and a brother, Edward F. Rose, both of Frederick. She was a devoted aunt to her nieces Emily Carroll of Boonesboro Md. and Morgan Carroll of N.Y., N.Y., and to her nephew, Edward J. Rose of Olney Md. Barbara also leaves behind countless caring friends.

Heaven is now a nicer place.

A Memorial will be held at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick on Saturday, May 14th at 2 pm. The Rev. Dr. Eric T. Myers will officiate.
