Concetta Juanita Sarjeant

Concetta Juanita (CJ) Sarjeant, 55, of Frederick, MD passed away after a short illness on March 4, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Hilda Sarjeant.

CJ had a personality that was larger than life. As a student at Washington, D.C.'s School Without Walls, CJ played tennis and developed a lifelong love for animals and the Washington Redskins. After moving from D.C. to Frederick, Maryland she worked for City Cab Company and continued to drive for them over the years until the time of her death. For eight years she also drove for Clause Trucking Company as a milk hauler, picking up milk from various farms in and around Frederick, until an injury prevented her from working. CJ had a passion for animals, especially her cats Milky and Tigger, and she shared her love for her family with everyone she met. CJ's love of tennis, her friends, and God made her a special person to the many people whose lives she touched. She will be greatly missed by those closest to her who cherished her friendship: Gwendolyn Smith (Lithonia, GA), Paula Hait, Angel Tregoning, Ann Fitzwater, and her special friend Pamela Knick, who cared for her through her illness until the time of her death. In addition to her loving friends, she is survived by her aunts Sylvia Burke of York, ME; Edna Greene of Cambridge, MA; Merrill Callender of Springfield, VA; Sylvia Sarjeant of Sugarland, TX; and Edna Sarjeant of Arlington, MA, and her many cousins and other relatives.

Visitation will be at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home at 106 East Church Street in Frederick on Friday, March 11 at 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Park Lawn Cemetery in Rockville, MD. In lieu of flowers, Concetta would have appreciated contributions to the Frederick County Humane Society, 217 W.
