Kaaren L. Saylor

Mrs. Kaaren Louise "Kay" Saylor, 69 , of Frederick, died on Monday, October 31, 2011, at the Northampton Manor Health Care Center. She was the wife of Richard L. Saylor. Born in Frederick, on July 30, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Clarence John, Jr., and Louise Hedges Kiffer Shull. Kay retired in 2006 from Wells Fargo and prior to there she worked 18 years at F & M Bank. She always enjoyed reading Nora Roberts books, needle work, crocheting blankets, watching birds and squirrels at the White Ferry Sportsman's Club. Surviving her in addition to her husband is one daughter, Dianne L. Benfield and friend Richard Sanders, of Gettysburg, PA, one brother, C. John Shull III and wife Janice, of Union Bridge, two grandsons, Jeremy and Jason Benfield, two great grandchildren, Connor Benfield and Ciara Hess, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Frederick Memorial Hospital and the Northampton Manor Health Care Center. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., on Thursday, November 3, 2011, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. The Rev. Donald Haas, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of ones choice.
