Mrs. Jane Rebecca Summers Sherald, 82, of Frederick, died on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Walter E. Sherald. Born in Frederick, on May 31, 1929, she was a daughter of the late J. Thomas and Emma Jane French Summers. Mrs. Sherald was retired after many years with the Frederick County Government as an administrator's assistant. After retiring, she volunteered for 10 years at the library for Parkway School. She was a member of the Centennial Memorial United Methodist Church, Frederick Surviving are her three children, Susan Sherald Harding, of Thurmont, Thomas M. Sherald and wife Peggy, of Emmitsburg and Dennis S. Sherald, of Cumberland, two sisters, Elizabeth Adams, of Buckeystown and Evelyn G. Dawson, of Cumberland, three grandchildren, Patrick Sherald and Katherine, Katherine Harding Routzahn and Evan, Lauren Harding Ausherman and Justin, great grandchildren, twins, Jack Henry and Avery Elizabeth Routzahn, and a great grandson, Baby Ausherman, to arrive in December, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Putman and a granddaughter, Laura McCarthy Sherald. The family would like to express their thanks to the following, who gave Mrs. Sherald outstanding care with much respect and professionalism, Dr. Syed Haque, Gale Campbell,her personal care giver, and the staff of Northampton Manor Health Care Center, Carroll Creek II and the Frederick Memorial Hospital Wing 4B. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Sunday, August 28, 2011, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, August 29, 2011, from the Centennial Memorial United Methodist Church, 8 West Second Street, Frederick. The Rev. Helen Smith, pastor of the church will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Pallbearers will be: Evan Routzahn, Patrick Sherald, Justin Ausherman, Randy Fulk , James Sherald and Louis Zupnik.
