Charles &Quot;Gene&Quot; Eugene Smith

Mr. Charles Eugene "Gene" Smith, 43, of Front Royal, Va., died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at his home. He was born in Leesburg, Va., on Nov. 4, 1966, and was a son of Anna Margaret Turner Smith, of Hagerstown, and the late William S. Smith Sr.

Gene was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School Class of 1986. He worked at an auto parts store.

Surviving in addition to his mother are two brothers, William S. Smith Jr. and Albert F. "Frankie" Smith, both of Hagerstown; two sisters, Leslie C. Smith of Hagerstown, and Brenda A. Chapman of Virginia. Also surviving are aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Private memorial services with inurnment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.

Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, is in charge of the arrangements.

The family requests the omission of flowers.
