Mr. Mark W. Spencer, 54, of Frederick, died on Monday, October 10, 2011, at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, in Baltimore. He was the husband of Catherine Thomas "Cathy" Spencer. Born on September 6, 1957, in Mason City, Iowa, he was a son of Richard W. and Marilyn Robinson Spencer, of Ellenton, Fla. Mark had worked for many years as a telecommunication's manger for Sprint and most recently had been working for Swift Transportation. He was a member of the Frederick Elks Lodge and the Sons of the American Legion, Francis Scott Key Post 11. Mark's passion was riding his motorcycle. Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are his children, Shawn M. Spencer and wife Danielle, of Pittsburgh, PA, Justin T. Spencer and Allison C. Spencer, both of Frederick, brother, Kevin Spencer and wife Lee, of Pasadena and sister, Cynthia Zyhowski and husband Tom, of Pittsburgh, PA, maternal grandmother, Edna Robinson Lytle, of Dallas Center, Iowa, and grandson, Ashton Spencer. He will also be remembered by a step daughter, Katy Smith and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, October 22, 2011, from the All Saints Episcopal Church, 106 West Church Street, Frederick. The Rev. Columba Gilliss, will officiate. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick.
