Mrs. Margaret Virginia Lidie "Mom-Mom" Staley, 89, of Yellow Springs, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at her home. She was the wife of the late Charles Edwin Staley. Born April 30, 1921, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Ann and Coleman Joseph Lidie Jr. Mom-Mom was a homemaker for most of her life. She was an amazing woman who provided strength and encouragement to her family. Mom-Mom loved her grandkids and was a wonderful role model. In addition, she also worked for many years in the cafeteria at Yellow Springs Elementary School. She is survived by two sons, Thomas Edwin Staley of Beaver, W.Va., and Glen Edward Staley and wife, Patty, of New Market; five grandchildren: Ren?e Reckley Levow and husband, Steven, Cmdr. Clifton Udell Reckley Jr. and wife, Jennifer, Kimberly Anne Linck, and husband, Robert, Breanne Marie Staley, and Brittany Marlane Moore, and husband, Jason; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mom-Mom also leaves behind two brothers, Lt. Col. Kenneth Franklin Lidie and Charles William Lidie; and two sisters, Doris Lorraine Burger and Shirley May Shafer. She will also be remembered by her former daughter-in-law, Sharleen Staley. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Sandra Lee Reckley, and son-in-law, Clifton Udell Reckley. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 14, at Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services for Mom-Mom will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, from the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Dr. Conrad O. Link and the Rev. Linda A. Warehime will officiate.
