Mr. Robert Francis Strailman

Mr. Robert Francis Strailman, 88, of Adamstown, died Friday, January 7, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Plummer Strailman. They were married on July 1, 1949.

Born Sept. 6, 1922 in Buckeystown, he was the son of the late John Leo, Sr., and Minnie Ponton Strailman.

He was a rural mail carrier for the Adamstown Post Office. Mr. Strailman was a member of the Fervency Lodge, No. 200, Point of Rocks. having served as Past Master. He also was a member of the Lodge of Perfection, York Rite Bodies, Hagerstown Shrine Club, and Ali Ghan Shriners of Cumberland.

Mr. Strailman also was a member of the FSK American Legion, Post #11, Frederick County Fish and Game Protection Association (Kanawha), and was a charter/lifetime member of Carroll Manor Fire Co., Inc.

He was a lifelong member of the Buckeystown United Methodist Church, Rt. 85.

He was predeceased by a brother, John L. Strailman, Jr. in 1963.

Friends may visit from 3 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 10, 2011 at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, at which time the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Fervency Lodge, No. 200, Pt. of Rocks will provide Masonic services at 8 p.m.

Funeral services for Mr. Strailman will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11 from the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Nelson Pittinger.

Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
