Myrtle Barnes Suter

Mrs. Myrtle Barnes Suter, 88, of Frederick, died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late William F. 'Buck' Suter. The day of her passing was her late husband's birthday. Born Sept. 28, 1921, in Danville, Va., she was the daughter of the late Mable Walker Barnes Pearson. In earlier years, Mrs. Suter worked as a seamstress at the former Henry's Clothing Store in downtown Frederick. She greatly enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events. She especially enjoyed attending baseball games at McCurdy Field. She is survived by three children, William F. Suter Jr. and wife, Teresa, of Frederick, Brenda Suter Zell of Frederick and Shirley Suter Redmond of Bradenton, Fla.; five grandchildren, William F. Suter III, Christopher Suter, Bobby Zell, John Cramer and Billy Cramer; as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Suter is also survived by two brothers, Curtis and Billy Pearson, both of Danville. In addition to her mother and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, James Barnes; and a grandson, David Cramer. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 4, at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Graveside services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5, at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should assemble inside the main entrance of the cemetery by 9:45 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Garrett.
