Hazel Marie Taisey

Mrs. Hazel Marie Taisey, 90, died Thursday, June 16, 2011 at her home in Frederick. She was the wife of the late George H. Taisey.

Born on January 19, 1921 in Lancaster, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Ethel (Boerstler) Shallenberger.

She is survived by her daughters, Francine K. Hall and husband, Gary, of Charles Town, W.Va.; Yvette S. Allen and husband, Stanley, of Mt. Airy; Pamela L. Stromowsky of Frederick; Cheryl A. Preston and husband, Steve, of Frederick; and adopted daughter and companion, Rita Surya; five grandchildren, Aimee Winkler, Traci Ott, Jason Hall, Caitlin Stromowsky; and Samantha Preston; and eight great-grandchildren, Lexi, Whitney and Luke Winkler; Blayne and Gabriella Ott; and Jason, Austin and Logan Hall.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Taisey was preceded in death by her son, Patrick A. Taisey. She was the last member of her immediate family.

The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2011 at Norbeck Memorial Park Chapel, 16225 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney, MD 20832. A service for Mrs. Taisey will begin at 11:30 a.m. from the chapel with the Rev. Lynn Wilson of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Interment to immediately follow.
