Mrs. Mary Kathryn (Remsberg) Trout, 80, of the Village of Robinwood, Hagerstown, died Monday, June 6, 2011 at Meritus Medical Center. She was the wife of the late George William Trout, Jr. Born March 22, 1931 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Arthur R. Sr., and Mary Catherine Culler Remsberg.
She graduated from Frederick High School and Hood College with her Registered Nurse's training through Massachusetts General.
While living in Frederick, she was an active member of First Baptist Church, was co-owner and partner of Trout's Sunoco Station, and was a girl scout leader. After becoming a resident of Hagerstown, she enjoyed a quieter life of being a proud parent and grandparent.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte M. Trout of Hagerstown; her son, James W. Trout and wife, Cindy, of Salix, Pa.; grandsons, Eric W. Trout of Pittsburgh, Adam M. Trout of Columbus, Ohio, Philip A. Trout and Daniel J. Trout, both of Salix; and three nephews and one niece and their families,
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Dr. A. Royal Remsberg, Jr.; and her daughters, Deborah Ann Trout, and Jean Elizabeth Trout.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2011 at Christ's Reformed Church United Church of Christ, 130 W. Franklin Street, Hagerstown, with a visitation from 10 until 11 at the church. Officiating will be the Rev. Gregg R. Meserole, senior pastor, and Rev. Rebecca J.P. Hoover, associate minister.
Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
