Charles &Quot;Chuck&Quot; Levi Warner

Mr. Charles Levi "Chuck" Warner, 89, of Frederick, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Margie Frye Warner for 57 years. Born May 21, 1921, in New Windsor, he was a son of the late Charles Clifton and Blanche E. Stitely Warner. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Ribbon and the European African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon. Mr. Warner was retired from the government as a federal policeman with the General Services Administration. He worked at the shipyards in Baltimore before the military and also for Chestnut Farms Dairy and Sealtest Diary. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed crabbing. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Cynthia Ann Wilder of Ocean Pines and Cathy Lynne French and husband, Stratton, of Point of Rocks; three grandchildren, Stephanie Lynn French, Joshua Philip Wilder and Stephen Lee French; and many nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by son-in-law, Thomas E. Wilder. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ira Newton Warner and Sterling Albert Warner; and three sisters, Emily Elizabeth Griffith, Helen Frances Stine and Betty Jane Everly. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, at Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Marina Flores, pastor of Manor Lutheran Parish, will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Pallbearers will be Stratton French, Joshua P. Wilder, Harry Frye, Ed Lutz, Ronald Heffner and Michael Full. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Attn: Donor Service, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309, or to a charity of one's choice.
