Gladys H. Welty

Mrs. Gladys Houck Welty, age 99 of Frederick passed away on Friday, January 14, 2011 in her home. She was the wife of the late Sourren L. Welty, Jr, who passed away on January 28, 1966. Born on September 1, 1911 in Frederick, she was the daughter of Tolbart K. Houck, Sr and Nora A.S. Hough. Mrs. Welty was a longtime member, since 1955 of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She leaves behind one loving son, Frank Hedges Welty of Frederick and her grandchildren Clinton Eugene Welty and Randy Franklin Welty. She is additionally survived by members of the Houck family and many other nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter Susan Elaine Welty and her brother Tolbert K. Houck, Jr

Friends will be received on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 7 to 9 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 2 PM. The officiating minister will be Eric Robertson.
