Mildred Frances Wetzel

Mrs. Mildred Frances Wetzel, 83, of Frederick, died August 17, 2010, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Franklin T. Wetzel.

Born October 26, 1926 in Lucketts, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Philip Shurl Heater and Welby Viola Fry Heater.

Mrs. Wetzel is survived by her six children, P. Franklin Wetzel and wife, Catherine, of Muskegon, Michigan; Kenneth R. Wetzel of Frederick; Wanda F. Watson and husband, William, of Middletown; Terry L. Wetzel of Frederick; Rita W. Baer and husband, Robert of Middletown; and Arlene K. Spring and husband, Thomas, of Brunswick.

Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Virginia Wetzel Serio of Michigan; Susan Wetzel and husband, Jason Balgooyen, of Dallas, Texas; William Watson, Jr., and wife, Marcia, of New Market; Tracey Watson Osborne and husband, Joseph, of Catonsville; Kelly Watson Zeh and husband, Jason, of Boling, Ohio; Daniel Wetzel of Brunswick; A. Edwin Hemp, Jr. and wife, Amanda, of Inwood, West Virginia; Brandon Baer of Middletown; Andrew Baer of Middletown; Rebecca Spring Young of Brunswick; Shelly Spring of Brunswick; and R. Thomas Spring, III, of Frederick; as well as, 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Lee Heater and Shirley (Buddy) Franklin Heater.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 20 from the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Edward Hartman.

Interment will follow at St. Pauls Cemetery, Pt. of Rocks.
