William G. White

Mr. William Gilbert White, 73, of Jefferson, died on Friday, September 17, 2010, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of the late Elizabeth Louise "Betty" Louch White, who died on March 4, 2003. Born in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, on October 17, 1936, he was a son of the late William Henry White and Kathryn Mae Keim White McGowan. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was retired as an engineer for Atlantic Research Corporation. He was a member of the Francis Scott Key American Legion, Post # 11, and worked as an election supervisor for Jefferson and Burkittsville communities. He also worked as an income tax preparer for AARP. Mr. White enjoyed working in his garden, watching and feeding brids, astrology, genealogy, computers and repairing and fixing items. He had a great love for dogs and cats, but most of all he was always ready to do anything for anyone, who needed something. Surviving are his two children, Stanley E. Landers, of Jefferson and Cherice A. White-Norris, and husband Adam. of Middletown, and one granddaughter, Krystal Landers Parsley, and great grandchild, Chance Parsley. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Ronald E. Reaves, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, will officiate. Entombment will be in the mausoleum of the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick County Humane Society, 5712-D Industry Lane, Frederick, MD 21704.
