Mr. Zach Wilcom, 16, of Frederick, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 11, 2010. Born Sept. 22, 1993, in Frederick, he was the son of Jay and Karen Wilcom of Frederick. Zach was a student at Tuscarora High School and at the Career and Technology Center, where he proudly worked hard as a mason. He was a second-degree black belt in karate and also enjoyed watching UFC fighting. He loved the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. He was a compassionate young man and loved spending time with his family and friends, as well as the elderly. In addition to his parents, Zach is survived by his two sisters, Amber and Madison Wilcom; his paternal grandmother, Catherine "Sis" Wilcom; maternal grandmother, Lois Roberts; great-grandmother, Ruth Biggs; and his stepgrandmother, Sue Wilcom. He is additionally survived by his aunts and uncles, Heather Lighty and husband, Tony, and Candy Oehmig and husband, Dale; and a stepuncle, Michael Collins and his wife, Kim. He will be missed by his numerous cousins and by special friends, too many to list. He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Dick Roberts and Jay Wilcom Sr. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 16, at South End Baptist Church, 506 Carrollton Drive, Frederick, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17. The Rev. J. Kenneth Stalls and the Rev. Jason Lang will officiate. Contributions may be made in Zach's name to Frederick County Hotline, a program of the Mental Health Association, 263 W.
