Mr. Chester Larry Williams, 68, of New Market, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Lisa Hostetter Williams. They were married for 31 years.
Born September 13, 1942 in Westminster, he was the son of Catherine Study Williams of Westminster and the late Chester Leroy Williams.
Mr. Williams was an analyst for 40 years for the National Security Agency. He enjoyed skiing, tennis and ballroom dancing with his wife.
He loved to play the drums, and during his early years, he was a drummer in a rock band, "The Check Mates." He was known for his quick sense of humor and had the ability to make everyone laugh.
Mr. Williams loved his family, and he especially enjoyed their annual trips to Wyoming where he found great pleasure in watching the wildlife.
He was a member of Monocacy Valley Church.
In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves behind his loving children, Christian Williams of Frederick and Andrea Williams of Philadelphia; his sister, Bonnie Louise Schaefer and her husband, Daniel, of Hampstead; and his father and mother-in-law, E. Ralph and Edie Hostetter of North East.
Additionally, he is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, a great-niece, great-nephews, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
He was loved by all and will be missed by many.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2010 at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at Monocacy Valley Church, 9861 Old National Pike, Ijamsville, MD 21754. Officiating will be the Rev. Mark VanderMeer.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 1120 G Street NW, Suite 700 Washington, DC 20005.
