Dorothy Mae Shipley Winpigler Obituary

Dorothy Mae Shipley Winpigler, 87, of Middletown, MD, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Stella Maris Nursing Home in Timonium, MD. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Shipley and Miriam Ziegler.

She was born on November 19, 1922 in Frederick, MD. She was the wife of the late R. Leon Winpigler. Dorothy was a federal employee and worked at the National Institute of Health and at Fort Detrick.

She is survived by her sister Suzanne Schmid and husband Walter, sister-in-law, Doris Bottcher, nieces, Sharon Bottcher, Joan Peddicord, Alyce Schmid, nephews, Denmon "Denny" Schmid and wife Joyce, Craig Bottcher and wife Maryann, grandnieces Sienna Schmid and Eva Bottcher, and grandnephew, Stanley Bottcher.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am, on Friday, November 19, 2010, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD, 21701. A memorial service will be gin at 11 am. The Rev. Dr. Barbara Kershner-Daniel will officiate. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market Street, Frederick.
