Mary Irene Wolfe

Mrs. Mary "Irene" Wolfe, age 90, went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 26, 1920 in Frederick, MD and was the daughter of the late Augustus "Gus" Tyeryar and Flora Mae Harris Wright Tyeryar. Irene was predeceased by her husband Orval O. "Landis" Wolfe who she married on August 3, 1941.

She was a lifelong member of All Saints Episcopal Church and attended Saint Barnabas Chapel on Winchester Street from her youth until its closing. She later attended the Church of the Transfiguration at Braddock Heights. Irene worked at Frederick Tailoring and later worked at Bucheimer Leather Factory for many years.

She was a loving mother to her three children: Landis "Butch" Wolfe and wife Becky of Frederick; Richard Wolfe and wife Cathy, of McHenry; and Sandra Fox and husband Melvin of New Market. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Melissa, Melinda, Mark, Matthew, Martin, Tammy and Michael and their families, which included many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is additionally survived by her other "special" children, the Bowers family and many nieces and nephews She will be remembered by many friends, and neighbors.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her sisters Alice Bowers and Gussie Guariglia, her brother Charles "Buck" Tyeryar, and by half brothers William, Frank and Gene Wright, and Harry Tyeryar.

Friends will be received at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick on Thursday, November 18, 2010 from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 PM where services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 1:00 PM. The Rev. Thomas W. Claggett III, of All Saint Episcopal Church will officiate with Richard "Bing" Keeney. The interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
