John Henry Wright, 80, of Jefferson, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband for nearly 57 years of Reba J. (Arvin) Wright. Born Nov. 7, 1929, in Jefferson, he was the son of the late Robert G. and Lena Wright. Mr. Wright was a lifelong member of Jefferson United Methodist Church. He worked hard as a lifelong dairy farmer. In addition to his wife, Mr. Wright is also survived by his children, Linda Gagnon and husband, Gary, of Smithsburg, John Wright Jr. and wife, Meleah, of Middletown, and David Wright and wife, Erika, of Peachtree City, Ga. He was the grandfather of Janice Palencia, Christopher Gagnon, John Wright III and Andrew Wright; and the great-grandfather of three. He is additionally survived by his sisters, Myrtle Clary and Annabelle Burgee; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Walter Wright, June Ott and Russell Wright. He will also be missed by his special friends, Craig and Deb Geisler. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 12, at Keeney and Basford, P.A., Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 13. The Rev. Katrina L. Holland will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Jefferson.
