Nancy Marshall Forcier, 84, of Buckingham's Choice, Adamstown, Md., died Friday, January 6, 2012, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late John N. and Marian D. Marshall, Nancy was raised in Bethlehem, Pa., where she attended Moravian Seminary for Girls. After graduating in 1945 from Chatham Hall, she attended Smith College, where she received a B.A. in 1949 in history, government and economics. In 1951, she married Guy S. Forcier of St. Louis, who predeceased her in 1995. During her many years in St. Louis, she was an enthusiastic community volunteer and was active in politics, serving as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in Chicago in 1960. Throughout her life, she was an accomplished and highly competitive athlete, particularly in swimming and golf. She moved to Buckingham's Choice in 2006, where she became an active member of the community. A member of the Church of St. Michael and St. George in St. Louis, she attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Point of Rocks, Md. Her daughter, Anne Watson, died in 2006. She is survived by her son, John M. Forcier (Mary Frances) of Leesburg, Va.; a brother, Dr. James S. Marshall (Elizabeth) of Gates Mills, Ohio; son-in-law Scott M. Watson of Wayne, Pa.; grandchildren Carolyn W. Flood (Andrew) of Woodstock, Ga., Scott M. (Mac) Watson, Jr., of Concord, N.H., and James Forcier of Leesburg, Va.; and three great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being made by Keeney and Basford Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 28, at Buckingham's Choice, 3200 Baker Circle, Adamstown, Md. Interment will take place in the spring at the Church of St. Michael and St. George in St. Louis.
