Mary Regina Carroll

September 25, 1925 — January 12, 2012

Mary Wilkinson Carroll, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2012, surrounded by family. Mary was born in Hollywood, MD in 1925, the youngest child of Joseph P. Wilkinson and Eleanor Wells Wilkinson. She is preceded in death by her brothers George, Joseph, J. McCall, and James, and her sisters, Harriet Curtin and Eleanor Boothe. Mary graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Leonardtown, MD, and went on to marry Francis W. Carroll on June 26, 1948, at St. John's Regis Catholic Church in Hollywood, MD. Her husband passed away in 1996. Mary and Frank had four children; Thomas F. Carroll, James S. Carroll, Terri A. Deiuliis and M. Lisa Borek, and nine grandchildren; Thomas Carroll, Jr., James C. Carroll, James S. Carroll, Jr., Ashley Carroll, AnnMarie Carroll, Michael Deiuliis, Kristin Deiuliis Beauchamp, Evan Borek and Nathan Borek. Mary also had three great-grandchildren; Curtis and Chloe Carroll, and Owen Beauchamp. Mary worked as a young woman for the Federal Reserve, and then for many years as an account administrator for Sears. She was a devout Catholic, who loved singing in the church choir, gardening, and playing the piano. In her retirement, she had an open-door policy, and her home was always full of children's laughter, the scent of special treats baking, and her love. Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 18 from 10 to 11 AM at St. Joseph's on Carrollton Manor, 5843 Manor Woods Road, Buckeystown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM immediately following the visitation, Father Michael Jendrek officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Stella Maris Hospice Care, 2300 Dulaney Valley Road, Timonium, MD 21093.
