Mrs. Madeleine Golibart Sherald, age 88, longtime resident of East Second Street, Frederick, died on January 13, 2012 at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born on February 5, 1923 in Philadelphia, she was the eldest daughter of the late Mark and Margaret Rhorback Golibart. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Sherald. Mrs. Sherald was a longtime loyal employee of the former Frederick Farmers & Mechanics National Bank. She was devoted to the many dear friends she made during her employment at the bank. As the "Mayor of Second Street" she kept in touch with anyone she met, and befriended everyone she came in contact with during her life. She is survived by her sisters, Margaret Ellen Iverson, of Homewood at Crumland Farms, Frederick, MD, Jeanne and Joseph Rodgers (Formerly known as Jean O'Brien) of Bethany Beach, DE, and sister-in-law Chica Godbee Golibart of Cape Charles, VA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well. She will also be fondly remembered by Geneva Delphey and Trish Culler who cared for her during her illness. She was predeceased by her brothers Mark and Martin Golibart. Friends will be received on Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 2 to 5 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. A brief prayer service will be held at 4 PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 11 AM at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 E. Second St., Frederick. Father Miguel Mateo will officiate. The interment of cremains will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
