Raymond Nicholas Moore

Mr. Raymond Nicholas "Nick" Moore, 55, of Middletown, died Monday, January 23, 2012, at Georgetown University Hospital. He was the husband of Tracie Belynda (Nowlin) Moore. Born on August 9, 1956, in Denver, Colorado, he was the son of the late Richard and Georgia (Houston) Moore. Nick grew up in Joplin, Missouri and he was a veteran of the US Army from 1978 until 1987. He managed hotels and community properties for over 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, golf and woodworking. He was an avid football fan especially the Kansas City Chiefs. His beagles Riley and Sidney often kept him company. He had a love of jazz music and board games. He enjoyed listening to the Prairie Home Companion radio show and all other NPR programs. Nick will be most remembered for his sense of humor. In addition to his wife, he was survived by his son, Joshua Richard Moore of Middletown, brother, Marc Moore and wife Vicki of Lake of Ozarks, MO, sisters, Karen Smith of Oklahoma City, OK and Debbie Duren and husband Wes of Ballground, GA, brother-in-law, Jack Kellogg, numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mike Moore, Phyllis Moore and Pat Kellogg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, on Monday, January 30, 2012, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home (Trail Mansion), 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at the Middletown United Methodist Church, 7108 Fern Circle, Middletown. Rev. Chris Bishop will officiate. Interment will follow at Middletown Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be shared with the Frederick Rescue Mission, 419 West South St, Frederick, MD 21701.
