Ms. Phyllis Ann (Crone) Stine died peacefully on February 1, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Hagerstown following a lengthy illness. Born on February 8, 1945 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Mary and Merle Crone. Over the years, Phyllis worked in housekeeping at Massers Motel, The Hampton Inn, and at Golden Dipt Bakery. She was an avid bingo player, cat lover, country music and Elvis fan. She enjoyed car rides, carnivals and trips to Ocean City with her family. Phyllis loved and adored her great-granddaughter Chloe, who will miss her Nanny. Phyllis is survived by two sons, Ray Stine and wife, Tammy, of Frederick; and David Stine and wife, Valiree, of Hagerstown; a sister, Betty Blank of Middletown; seven grandchildren, Amanda Stine of Cockeysville, Chelsea Stine of Frederick, Kelly Sensenig of Frederick, Brandon Sensenig of Hagerstown, Patrick Hewitt of Louisville, Ky., Christina Hewitt of Hagerstown, and Andrew Reese of Harrisburg, Pa.; 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She also will be remembered by her former husband, Kenneth (Ray) Stine of Frederick. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Her family would like to give thanks and appreciation to the staff at Golden Living Center in Hagerstown for the comfort and care given to their mother. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 5 at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 6 from the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Tom Fry of Ambassador Baptist Church, Frederick. Following the service, Phyllis will be laid to rest in Middletown Reformed Cemetery.
