Richard Wayne Crutchley, Sr.

March 28, 1941 — February 8, 2012

Mr. Richard Wayne Crutchley, Sr., 70, of Hurlock, MD, died on February 8, 2012 at Mallard Bay Care Center, Cambridge. Born on March 28, 1941 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Charles McCoy Crutchley and Eileen Kathryn Grossnickle. Richard was a driver at Genstar commercial transport service. Mr. Crutchley was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing as well as crabbing. He was a self taught carpenter and craftsman. Mr. Crutchley is survived by his ex-wife and companinon Katherine Lora Crutchley, his three children, Sandra L. Anthony and husband Donald of New Windsor, Richard Crutchley, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Sharpsburg and Charles B. Crutchley and wife Penny of Ijamsville. In addition, he is survived by grandchildren Nicole Lynn Crutchley, Courtney Danielle Crutchley, Caitlyn Marie Crutchley, Airman Patrick Powell and Audrey Bewley; siblings Meredith Crutchley, Guy Crutchley, Delores (Lorraine) Wolfe, Sharon Brittingham, Larry Crutchley, Beverly Roberts and half brother Tony Cope as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Gail Foster and Joyce Bihl. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
